BENEFITS OF ACCET ACCREDITATION

 

U.S. Department of Education Recognized Agency

ACCET has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978.  As such, the agency is listed as “a reliable authority as to the quality of education or training provided by institutions of higher education and the programs they accredit.”  We have received back-to-back 5-year grants of recognition, the longest period provided to an accrediting agency.

 

ISO 9001:2000 Certified Agency

In 1998 ACCET became the first accrediting agency to be ISO certified as a Quality Management System under the standards established by the International Organization for Standardization.

 

Quality Assurance

As A Partnership for Quality®, the ACCET accreditation process represents both an organizational commitment to and a strategic plan for quality training.  This peer review evaluation process serves to keep programs current, relevant and educationally sound.

 

Gatekeepers

 ·        Title IV Funding:  Accredited vocational institutions are eligible to seek approval for federal student aid monies, such as Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, Perkins Loans, and Guaranteed Student Loans.

 

·        Department of Homeland Security:  Intensive English Programs, and other ACCET accredited institutions are able to pursue Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (BICE) authorization to issue student visa paperwork for F and M visas, and fulfills the accreditation requirement for J visas.  In addition, the recertification process for accredited schools is simplified. 

 

·         State and Local Funding Programs:  Accreditation assists institutions in pursuing contractual affiliations with welfare, rehabilitation, and other workforce development programs.

  • edu Domain:  Accreditation is a recognized status that permits your   institution to file  with Educause for the use of the .edu domain as an extension to email and website addresses.

    

Government Training Contracts

ACCET accreditation assists institutions seeking contracts with government agencies and the armed forces, which often require accreditation as a condition to bid on training proposals.

CHEA Almanac of External Quality Review

ACCET and its accredited institutions are listed in the American Council on Education’s AIPE Directory and on the CHEA website at http://www.chea.org/institutions/index.cfm which are widely utilized by government agencies, military services, and corporations for identifying credible education and training organizations relative to establishing tuition reimbursement policies.  
 

Continuing Education Unit

ACCET accredited organizations are authorized to offer the Continuing Education Unit, which attests to a definitive and substantive evaluation of the administrative and instructional capabilities of a training institution.
