Workshops

ACCET offers Accreditation Workshops several times a year in order to educate our membership on the Standards of Accreditation and the Accreditation Process, from the Application to the On Site Visit to the Commission Decision. Attendance at a two-day Accreditation Workshop is mandatory for all institutions prior to submitting an ASER, except for avocational institutions seeking reaccreditation that must attend a one-day accreditation workshop.

ACCET reserves the right to add, cancel or otherwise alter the scheduling of workshops when necessary; every reasonable attempt will be made to timely notify registrants and potential applicants to accommodate their rescheduling needs.

Except for the workshop session held at the site of the Annual Convention, all workshops will be conducted at the ACCET office (unless alternate space is arranged). The ACCET office is located in northwest Washington, DC, in a turn-of-the-century townhouse. Please be advised that the training room is located on an upper (3rd) floor of the building, which has no elevator. If you have special needs, dietary or otherwise, please notify ACCET at the time you submit your registration form. Every reasonable attempt will be made to accommodate those needs.

Because of space constraints, workshop registration is limited to two representatives from each institution, except for the workshop session held during the annual conference. Registration beyond two individuals will be added to the waiting list. Initial applicants must have an approved inquiry questionnaire prior to registering for a workshop.

Cancellation Policy: In the event that a registrant finds it necessary to cancel his/her registration, a refund, minus a $100 processing fee, will be issued for notification received at least ten (10) working days prior to the specified workshop start date. No refunds are provided after that date; however, the registration fee, minus $100, will be applied toward registration at the next scheduled workshop.

Hotel Arrangements: Participants are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. The following hotels are within a short walking distance of the ACCET office. There are no room rate guarantees; however, the hotels are very familiar with ACCET and have offered assurances of a favorable competitive rate. A web search of the major travel-related browsers (Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, etc) should provide additional options to consider.

Schedule: All workshops begin promptly at 8:00am and end at 5:00pm.

What to Bring: Bring writing utensils, notepaper, and a willingness to learn. Laptop computers are welcome.
